The company
Buckmaster Hawkey Limited has been providing corporate advisory, management, strategic and financial advice to small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) for over 25 years. Our principal director is John Hawkey.
John Hawkey
John (who is a barrister and an accountant) is Managing Director of Buckmaster Hawkey Limited. Since 1982 he has worked in the corporate advisory field in the UK and Australia. Prior to that he worked for eight years as an insolvency practitioner. He has also owned his own businesses in printing, distribution and manufacturing.
John's work has included providing advice in mergers and acquisitions, financial and strategic management, exit strategy planning, turn rounds, insolvency and corporate recovery. He is the author of Exit Strategy Planning: Grooming your business for sale or succession, published by Gower Publishing Limited in 2003, and Sale or Succession? How To Plan For A Successful Business Exit, published by How to Books in 2005.
John provides lectures, seminars and presentations on a wide range of business topics to Universities, business associations, professional firms government bodies and business owner groups across the UK. His academic qualifications are: BA (Hons), Dip Law, M Com; and his professional qualifications are Barrister at law (Middle Temple) and Certified Practising Accountant.
